The Inspiration of The Sea Maui, Hawaii

“When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.”
― Paulo Coelho

I have recently been going through some really hard times in life. Everything seemed to come at once and when my body was in so much physical pain, from the mental and emotional trauma, I knew I needed to take a break.

I have been so blessed in my life to have such a beautiful community of friends around the world. I believe when we travel and we are open to the world with no borders, the earth moves those lines away, and we find connection with people, places and things in very profound ways.

I have spent the last while on the shores of Maui, taking time for me. I got back into my body to feel. I got back on the yoga mat, back in the water surfing and really took time to feel and breathe through all the emotions I have been holding deep inside. It is a work in progress and in this process I have had to find patience and kindness for my being. I believe the physical pain is a wake up to so much we hold deep inside. We forget to breathe and release. At times it feels so hard to even begin to deal when we have allowed ourselves to be so far gone.

Through breath and movement I found myself in silence a lot and really taking in all around me. I started observing the surrounding elements and I began to become inspired again. I also began to reflect on my jewelry inspiration and how the ocean has been a major source of that since the beginning. The ocean has taught me so much and it continues to be a source of my inspiration and a major element in my healing.
